Trench Limited opens its newest facility in Pickering

New plant offers expanded capacity and R&D capabilities

Employees, special guests and dignitaries including Pickering Mayor Dave Ryan were on hand at a grand ribbon-cutting gala hosted by Dr. Reno Reinhold, CEO Trench Canada, as the Trench Instrument Transformer Division (TCI) officially opened the doors to its newest manufacturing facility. The 190,000 sq. ft. office, plant and R&D location is a direct result of listening to our customers demanding shorter lead-times and improved throughput for our oil-insulated instrument transformer portfolio.

The event was well-attended by notable political figures active in the communities of Ajax and Pickering, Business Unit management, Siemens Canada management as well as Paulo Ruiz, CEO of the global Instrument Transformers business segment. Also included in the actual ribbon-cutting were two employees, both with over 40 years of service at TCI.

"We intend to use the training and knowledge gained in our Lean manufacturing program and spread this good practice to the processes within the new factory. As a result we will be able to serve both our domestic and global customers with better response times and improved service levels."
