Trench Germany in Bamberg delivered a 1,000 kV gas-insulated system for performing AC high-voltage tests to the Siemens Berlin switchgear plant. Thanks to the excellent cooperation with Berlin, it was possible to develop a customized solution for a very challenging customer concept.
The compact design allowed space-saving integration into the overall testing station. The encapsulated construction permits partial discharge measurements with a high sensitivity, even in the production environment where noise levels are elevated. Two 1,000 kV transformers operating in parallel ensure a very high testing capacity, with the additional benefit of superior safety features. The oil-free insulation also satisfies current environmental regulations.
The successful commissioning of this project is a further milestone in the business of high-voltage testing technology for Trench Germany GmbH. “For us it was essential that the project be completed on time, and we are already looking forward to the next challenges in our growing market,” says Product Manager Markus Bock of Trench Germany in Bamberg.
Trench Germany, the former MWB Messwandlerbau, prides itself on a long reference list of customized test systems, starting in the 1950s and growing to a worldwide installation base.
In recent years, Trench has supplied several 750 kV, 800 kV and 1,000 kV testing equipment, while the first 1,000 kV system commissioned in the 1980s in China is still in operation today.
In the demanding business of testing technology, Trench Germany has decades of experience and is highly successful in applying it to the emerging market of today.
